About Ryan
Ryan Madora is a Nashville-based producer, writer, educator, and bass player. The current bassist for indie rock icon Jenny Lewis, her credits include Robben Ford, Molly Tuttle, Allison Russell, and serving as musical director for Bobby Bones. Since moving to Nashville in 2012, she has backed artists including Brooks and Dunn, Hanson, Jason Isbell, Darius Rucker, and Garth Brooks and has appeared on three episodes of the TV show “Nashville.” Ryan was voted “6th Best Bassist of 2020” by Bass Player Magazine/Music Radar.
An educator at heart, Ryan teaches privately and contributes monthly columns to Bass Player Magazine and No Treble. In 2019, she published her first book, Bass Players To Know: Learning From The Greats, and launched a learning channel with TrueFire. Currently accepting new students, Ryan brings groove, eclecticism, and thoughtfulness to every lesson.
